Japanese Mezzo-soprano Nanako Kato has a career that include opera, oratorio and concert work.

She recently performed L'enfant in Ravel’s “L'enfant et les sortilèges” with International Master's Academy of Opera and Marcellina in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” with New York Opera Theater.  Other performances include Lyubica in Ana Sokolovic’s “Svadba” (NY premiere), 3rd Knaben in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote”, Dorabella in Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutte”.  

In her native Japan, She has been Alto soloist in Handel’s “Messiah” as well as Beethoven’s “Symphony no.9” “Fantasie fur Klavier” and Vivaldi’s “Gloria”.  

She received her music performance degrees from the Tokyo University of Arts (BM, MM) and the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College (Artist Diploma) 

She is currently pursuing Professional Studies Diploma student at Mannes school of Music of the college of performing arts of the new school.

She is a member of  Vocal Artists Management's Emerging Artists Division.
